My Minimal Makeup Look

Here’s a look at my go to products for a light and fresh makeup look that I love to rock during the warmer seasons. For me, looking fresh is all about the skin – you gotta make it glow! Let’s get started.

I like I like to start with a freshly cleansed and moisturized face. I let the lotion sink in for a bit before I put on a primer. My main one lately is the Hourglass Mineral Veil. You don’t need a lot. I smear this all over really, but make sure I focus on the areas that crease like under my eyes and around my mouth.

For my base, I’ve been gravitating towards Glossiers Skin Tint as it has a light coverage and just sinks into your skin. I like to squeeze a few drops around my face from the bottle and then blend it in with clean fingers. It dilutes redness and feels weightless.

For more targeted coverage, I have fallen in love with the Tarte Shape Tape concealer. It covers spots and redness easily and is so smooth and hydrating. The range of shades they offer is great so there’s something for everyone.

To rev up the dew, I’m going for a blush stain with my lovely Benefit Benetint. This smells lightly of roses and I’m going to use it on the cheeks as well as my lips. I just dot a few drops on the apples of my cheeks and blend it in with my fingers. You can build up the color to make it more intense if you like. It gives off a rosy-pink hue and makes me look healthy and youthful. I seriously love this stuff, plus it lasts forever. Be careful not to spill it on you, as the brush applicator can be tricky!

Now to powder lightly to set it all in place, I’ll use the Too Faced Primed and Poreless Pressed Powder. I mainly focus this under my eyes and around the center of my face, where I get shiny throughout the day. The packaging is so cute and has a compartment with a puff so I can touch it up later if I need to, and in this heat, I probably will.

I like to contour with my Sephora Contour Blush in Tranquil. I use an angled brush from Zoeva and carve out my cheekbones in a narrow triangle shape. I like this contour because it is almost impossible to do too much. The formula isn’t very powdery and only goes where you put it. Because of this, I can be very precise and I avoid looking like a dirty mess, which can happen super fast when you’re putting brown powder on pale skin.

Moving on to brows! I like the thick and bushy look right now so I’m using the NYX Micro Brow Pencil in Taupe. I would compare this to the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz, though the NYX packaging is definitely lacking, it is a good quality dupe for the price. I like to draw the bottom line of the brow first from the front corner to the tail.  Then I fill in the rest using small upward strokes to look as natural as possible, then blend out harsh lines with the built in spoolie.

For eyes, I’m skipping shadow, but I could take my contour and define the socket as well as the lower lid. This will make your eyes look bigger and more prominent.  Today I’m just going with super curled and lengthened lashes with Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara. This alone makes my eyes pop.

And to my favorite step –  highlight! Today I think I’m going for the Nars Multi Stick in Copacabana. This gives the most luminous iridescent glow! It’s like a light pinkish lilac color and it just looks stunning. I use my fingers to gently pat it on all the high points; cheekbones, the tip of the nose, cupids bow, center of the forehead and chin. See – minimal right?! If I’m not feeling cream, I’ll use the Tarte Highlight in Stunner.

And that’s a wrap!
