This one is tricky for me. Using only five products can be a challenge, but using versatile items does help. Here’s a look at what I chose.
A high-coverage concealer – I chose the Tarte Shape Tape. This is a recently new purchase for me, but I’m already in love; sorry Nars Creamy Concealer! The color match for me is just right, of course, I picked the lightest one, and the coverage is no joke. It blends very much like my favorite Nars one, as it’s very creamy. The applicator is a jumbo doe foot and it was a little strange at first because it can be difficult for precision application. I’ll use this to cover redness and conceal dark circles, blending it out for a light finish.
Lip and Cheek Color – The multitasker. The only way I could make five products work! I’ve had this Benefit Benetint for ages and its still going strong. You don’t need much to make an impact. It has a gentle rosy scent and gives you a beautiful reddish pink color on your lips and cheeks. You can apply as many layers as you want to get more color payoff. I like to dab a few drops on my cheeks and then blend it in, and add a few layers to my lips for that perfect popsicle pout.
Brows are a must – For any look, I think brows are essential. They make you look put together and frame your face. I am not blessed with naturally defined brows, so filling them in is a staple in my everyday routine. My go-to is, of course, the Hourglass Arch Brow Pencil in Plantuim Blonde. A few precise glides and a little comb through with the built in spoolie and done.
Mascara – Another everyday essential as this step opens your eyes and adds a whimsy to your look. As we’re skipping shadow, mascara helps define your eyes. My lashes are quite light so I usually opt for black to make my eyes pop. I’m using the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara.
Highlighter – This was the last product I chose, instead of powder, because I think it will make more of a difference to the overall look. This also can be used as a brightening eyeshadow as well, swept over the lid as well as in the inner corner of the eye, giving your look a dewy glow! Right now I’m loving the Make Up For Ever Pro Light Fusion Highlighter in 1 Golden Pink.
What products would you choose if you could only pick five?
