My End of Summer Makeup

Towards the end of summer I always get a little nostalgic for autumn, so here are my current picks to transition me into the cooler months.

Starting with the base, I’m reaching for my trusty Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer. I recently bought the full sized version and couldn’t be happier. How luxe the packaging is! As you know, it’s my favorite face primer at the moment so I’m gonna glide this all over my face, especially under the eyes.

For my foundation, I’m using the NYX Total Control Drop Foundation, the most liquidy foundation I own. I seriously love this stuff. I had very low expectations as far as how the formula would be and the shade range, but I was surprised. The formula is a dream. I tend to drop a few dots all over my face, careful not to spill any, as it can be runny. You can blend it out with a sponge or I use my flat top kabuki. It has amazing coverage and just sinks into your skin as it’s so thin. I’m still in awe every time I apply it.

Next, I’ll use the Tarte Shape Tape just under my eyes and if I have a blemish or redness. I like to use as little as possible, taking time to blend in the base so that it is seamless with my skin. I’ve been using this Mac Pro Longwear Pressed Powder in Light and it is quite nice. I set my under eyes first with a small setting brush to prevent creasing and then dust it around my face, focusing mainly on the center.

Moving on to contour, I’m sure you can guess that it has to be the Sephora Contour in Tranquil. I do my usual chisel under the cheekbones. You know the drill. For blush, let’s keep it matte and dusky with Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Exposed. This is such a lovely everyday shade that is suitable for everyone.

I reached all the way in the back of my drawer and dusted off the Lorac Pro Palette for this look as it gives off the autumnal vibes I’m going for. As you can see, I love the matte shades the most. For every day, I’ll wash the cream all over the lid, and then take mauve and focus it in the crease. To jazz it up, I like to use the gold shimmer in the center of my lid and the inner corner. Sometimes I like to take the dark brown espresso color and do a quick winged liner with an angled brush to further define my eyes. A quick lash curl and then I sweep the L’Oreal Lash Paradise on my eyelashes. That’s the eyes done.

For the lips, I’m going for a matte mauvy pink with the Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Intime. This lipstick feels so smooth and buttery on your lips and has a like rose scent. And that’s the finished look!
